Hearst Castle- Collection of Europe

Hearst Castle is an historical place located an hour drive from Santa Cruz Beach throught Highway 1 along the coast of California. Bay here is a nice habitat for sea lion in the picture...

Hearst Castle is handle by California State Parks, you can not drive to the castle directly, you need to join a tour from visitor center... there are different kind of tour around the castle. We took a tour that suit first time visitor... they are so considerate that make me go back again for different tour... National Geographic did documentation of Hearst Castle ~~ Building a Dream... There is a theatre that you want watch story about this guy who building his dream... is really a nice documentary.

This castle is a private asset that built on a hill, is kind of suprise to see a Neptune pool here, everything here is collection of owner imported from everywhere around Europe long time ago... Is really suprise to see this European style building at a silent hill in California...
Hearst growth up here, he used to camp and have holiday here, and here come the dream of building this castle, he want the building here built according to his preferable... and that is a lot of guest room, as this is really a place for him to have holiday... not easy huh... can you see all those statue, column, craft that he imported from Europe, is not easy to do that during early 1900...

After Hearst pass away, his family donate Hearst Castle to State Parks of California, then only this dream shared to the world...
